When you arrive on site, meet with the site team and go through the induction process. The induction will familiarise you with the site, its health and safety hazards and any rules that must be adhered to.
At the end of the induction process, a member of the site team will present you with a personalised QR code.
Start the Site Gateway app on your phone. Tap "New Location", allow access to the camera and scan the QR code.
From the Site Gateway app, tap "Enter Site". A QR code will appear on screen.
Hold your phone facedown approximately 10cm above the turnstile's scanner.
The turnstile barrier will open so that you can walk onto the site.
Tap "Exit Site" when leaving to open the turnstile in the opposite direction.
With an iPhone, Site Gateway works with Siri on your lockscreen. With an Android phone, tap the Enter Site/Exit Site buttons in the app as voice control is currently unavailable.
For quick passage through a turnstile, grab your iPhone when approaching a turnstile. Say "Hey Siri, Enter Site" and hold the QR code over its scanner as you pass through the barrier.
Hey Siri, Enter Site
Site Gateway is designed to use the bare minimum of your mobile data.
A small amount of data is used when adding a new location.
QR codes for entering and exiting do not use any mobile data. An exception is QR codes generated by Siri, as an iPhone will communicate with Apple to convert speech to text.
If your phone does not have mobile data then it will still show QR codes and open turnstiles.
To first register a location the phone must be connected to WiFi to complete the induction process.
If you work at several locations that use Site Gateway turnstiles, then simply switch to the right location on arrival.
Start the app and tap one of the registered locations to select it.
Tap "Enter Site" and a QR code for that location will appear.
When a location is no longer needed, tap "Manage Locations".
On an iPhone, tap the minus-sign then Archive to remove it from the main screen. On an Android phone swipe a location to archive it.
Archived locations can be restored by tapping or swiping their names.
When you hold your phone over a turnstile, the turnstile will scan the QR code and record your visit.
